Spook will manage all operational aspects associated with VIGIL Plus, from handling service calls to planning scheduled maintenance visits. However, the new relationship also presents the opportunity for VIGIL Plus customers to enhance their current service through a seamless technology refresh. Customers will gain access to Spook online reports including graphical sensor data, hitherto unavailable with VIGIL Plus. They will also have the option to monitor various power metrics at IT rack or server room level. Uniquely, the Spook service includes a client portal that provides secure online access to key weekly and monthly audit reports, installation plans, real-time and historical charting for each monitored condition and Critical Alarm Incident Reports.
Spook director, Martin Luck, commented, “As specialists in providing managed monitoring services, we are very excited to be able to work alongside SunGard, supporting its VIGIL Plus customer base.”
Pat Morley, UK service delivery director, SunGard Availability Services, added, “In recent months SunGard Availability Services has been searching for a partner who could add new customer value to the VIGIL Plus service in line with our own mission to give customers the best possible service experience. We are therefore pleased to be able to outsource the maintenance and management of this service to Spook, an organisation who, like ourselves, were recent award winners at the 2011 CIR Business Continuity Awards*. We are confident that Spook’s enhanced monitoring services will help provide our customers with a future-proof technology solution moving forward.”
Mr. Luck concluded, “Typically investment in IT infrastructure and business continuity planning constitutes a significant part of an organisation’s budget. IT exists to run the business, therefore any service that minimises the chances of unplanned business downtime due to IT failure must be worthy of serious consideration.”
